Conoco Phillips Alpine Cement Project

The Alpine Concrete Project consisted of a 235 cubic yard slab on grade for a new fleet maintenance shop and was performed by GBC, Inc. at the Conoco Phillips Alpine Oil Field just outside of Prudhoe Bay in August of 2005.

Pouring concrete on the North Slope Oil fields can be, and typically is, a challenging task.  When the location is a remote oil field, and it has only wintertime access by ice road, you can turn the intensity dial up a few notches.

GBC was awarded this project early in the winter of 2005.  We delivered all equipment and materials to the jobsite by early spring via the ice road which becomes unsafe for travel once the temperatures start to rise in late spring.  GBC worked with the Conoco Phillips on the preparation stages of the jobsite and scheduling to insure that once we commenced our work at the jobsite, all systems would be go.  GBC was able to mobilize to the jobsite, batch, place and finish the 235 cubic yards for this project in less than 14 days.
